“We have just completed the 16th Pacific Alliance Summit meeting in the brother country of Colombia,” Castillo said via Twitter.
“I am convinced that this Latin American integration represents a priority that will contribute to the economic and sustainable development of our countries,” he added.
This is part of a strategy to become a projection platform to the world, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
In the last edition, Colombia handed over the presidency pro tempore to Mexico for the period 2022.
Peru will assume the presidency pro tempore in January 2023.
According to the Prime Minister, this FTA will serve to institutionalize and strengthen the economic alliance between the countries, as well as boost trade between these nations and strengthen ties.
The Pacific Alliance was created in 2011 as an economic and development initiative between four Latin American countries: Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
